It was $1 hot-dog night so Brent and I thought it was the perfect time to take Preston to his first Rangers Baseball Game. Brent was very excited to share this moment with his son and it ended up being a nice Wednesday summer evening. Preston fell asleep in the car on the way there only to wake up to see a huge baseball stadium starring right at him. He had no clue where he was but he was pretty intrigued to find out. We stood in line to buy our tickets while Preston continued to take in all the sights and sounds.
Walking into the stadium for the first time with him was pretty cool, seeing his face light up will be a memory we both will never forget. We made it to our seats and Preston was beginning to realize he was somewhere that had to do with baseball because we kept telling him he was at a baseball game. After getting settled into our seats, Brent made a quick run for food and drinks. He came back with lots of hot-dogs of course, garlic fries and soda. While we sat in our seats enjoying the game we also bought a bag of kettle popcorn (which he didn't really like) and a bag of cotton-candy for mommy.
After watching a few innings, we walked around the whole stadium and pointed out different things to Preston. Preston did end up finding the very tall escalators so we rode those to the top several times and boy did he LOVE that. We took in the city views from the top and then returned to our seats for a few more innings.
Unfortunately, the Rangers were loosing pretty bad so before leaving a few innings early, we stopped by the gift shop for a quick look before heading home. Brent really wanted Preston to try on a few hats but the boy just doesn't like hats. We tried several times but he just wasn't having it until he saw a hat that looked just like Daddy's and then all of a sudden he would try the hat on just long enough for us to take his picture. Then he reluctantly took a picture wearing the enormous red foam hat which turned out soo cute.
