Wii and Nuclear Cowboys

Lately, Brent and I have been spending a lot of fun time with my little nephew, Jerod. He spent the night alone with us for the very first time a few weekends ago and we had a blast. Jerod and Brent played Wii for hours and they managed to make it all the way to world 8 in Mario (there are 9 worlds), we baked cookies from scratch, walked to the park, found rock chalk and ate at Chick-fil-a. Love every minute of it!!
Last weekend I was lucky enough to get tickets to the Nuclear Cowboy show at the AAC. Its a free-style motocross show and Brent wanted to take Jerod so bad. I ended up getting an extra ticket and invited my brother to come along. Jerod was amazed at the tricks those guys could do on their dirt bikes and he even got to see a guy do a backflip on a 4 wheeler. I was so happy that Bub and Jerod got to do a guy bonding thing too.
Can't wait for our next adventure, I think we might take him camping!!

Happy New Year 2011!!

Brent and I rung in the new year by celebrating at home with our family. My parents, Vicki, Dave, Grandma and Leon joined our party and it actually turned out to be a lot of fun. We ended the year on a great note eating pizza, pasta, bread and salad. Yummy!! For dessert, we had apple pie and a new fruit pizza mom created and it was delicious. The boys watched sports and the girls chatted all night till midnight. Everyone had a great time blowing their horns and popping their popper when the clock struck midnight.
Happy New Year Everyone!!!

One of my bucket wish list come true this Christmas...I got to host Christmas at my house!! I have always wanted to host Christmas and this year that wish came true. It was a lot of work but totally worth it. We celebrated with my family early because Bub and Michelle were going to be in Alabama Christmas Eve/Day so we all got together the weekend before Christmas. It actually worked out perfect because that allowed Brent and I to be with John and Kathy on Christmas Eve and with Vicki's family Christmas Day. We fixed our traditional chicken enchiladas, taco salad, queso and El Phoenix chips...it was soo good. After dinner it was time to open presents and I think the kids opened all their gifts in record time, I think it took all of 10-15 minutes. This was out second year to do the ornament exchange among the adults and it went really well. Everyone brought cute ornaments and I love the snowflakes I got!!
We spent Christmas Eve with John, Kathy, Brad, Jessie, Nat and Red. Kathy fixed a delicious meal (as always) that included prime rib, mash potatoes and green bean casserole. We finished the meal off with homemade strawberry cheesecake, yum yum. We opened gifts afterwards and then hung out the rest of the evening. I'm so glad we got to spend that time with John!!
We spent the night at Vicki and Dave's Christmas Eve night and woke up bright and early Christmas morning to a hot cook egg casserole and grams' famous elephant ear cookies. We opened gifts then headed to Shelia and Steve's for Christmas lunch. Everyone was able to come and I enjoyed being with Brent's extended family for Christmas.
Merry Christmas Everyone!!!!
