"Villafranche"Our first port was to the French Riviera (coastline of the south eastern corner of France). Nice, Monaco and Cannes are the most well-known destinations in the French Riviera. We began our day in the ultra cute french village of Villafranche. This hillside villa was so adorable, full of color and really gave you the "local" french feel. Although we didn't know much about this town before we arrived, it ended up being Brent and mine's favorite little spot. The way of life is so different there, very layed back and just absolutely beautiful.
Our next stop of the day was in Nice. We took a bus tour all around learning about the cities rich culture and history. This is were the major players house their multi-million dollar yachts. Nice is the final resting place of the Princess of Monaco, Grace Kelly and Elton John even has a house here.
Our last stop of the day was to the medieval fortified town of Saint Paul-de-Vence. Its perched high on a hilltop with amazing views of the mountains and sea. It is completed enclosed by fortress walls and has beautiful cobblestone streets which are very narrow. You could really feel the richness of the history here.
