Well Hello There!!!

I decided to start a blog for Brent and I because I thought it would be a great way to "scrapbook" our life without having to buy all those expensive stickers and cute cut-outs.

To begin, Brent and I tied the knot on November 22, 2008 after 4 years of dating. It was absolutely amazing and I couldn't have asked for better people to be surrounded by than my close family and friends, who are the loves of my life. We got married at my church in Sunnyvale and then it was off to Europe for 2 whole weeks of wedded bliss.

We left the very next day and headed straight for London which only took us 9 hours in coach :( Then we had a 3 hour layover at the London airport then boarded another 3 hour flight to Barcelona, Spain. Needless to say, this was not the highlight of the trip. We finally landed in Barcelona just to discover my big suitcase was missing. Asking for help proved to be a slight problem considering many people did not speak English, or at least they pretended not to speak it. Our options were to wait 6 hours at the airport for the flight to arrive that held my suitcase or continue on to our hotel and keep our fingers crossed they would deliver my suitcase to our hotel by the next morning. We took our chances and headed back to the hotel because I could not bare the thought of spending another 6 hours in an airport. We passed the time by walking around the famous "Las Ramblas" main street taking in all the sites and eating a late night authentic Italian dinner. We headed back to the hotel to catch some zzzzz's. We found ourselves awaken by a loud bang at our door at 1am in the morning. Thankfully, it was the front desk with my beloved suitcase.

We woke up bright and early the next morning to discover as much Barcelona as we could before catching our cruise ship by 2pm. We grabbed a quick breakfast at McDonald's (I know, pretty lame) but we were in a hurry. After doing much research at home preparing for our trip, we discovered that Barcelona is known for the great works of an architect named Gaudi. He created many fantastic works of art all over Barcelona. Brent and I spent the day visiting 2 of his most famous pieces known as "Parc Guell" and "La Sagrada Familia". Below are some pics of each place. Parc Guell is a garden filled with architectural elements all designed by Gaudi that dates back to the 1900's. La Sagrada Familia is a massive Catholic Church designed and worked on by Gaudi for more than 40 years. The church is still under construction and is not expected to be completed until 2026. The church as 4 spiral shaped towers that soar endlessly into the sky. Tourist are allowed inside and allowed up the spiral towers. The views were amazing but if you don't like tight spaces, this would not be a place you would like to find yourself. You have to make your way down one person behind the other because the spirals are very very tight. Brent and I walked around Barcelona a bit more, then we had to head to the loading docks to catch our boat.
