Porter House: Family Trip to Schlitterbahn

Our summer trip this year included my parents, Bub, Michelle, Jerod and us!! We started the trip off by having breakfast at Cracker Barrel and then we all headed down to New Braunfels. We all got checked in, swung by Schlitterbahn to purchase our tickets and then we continued on to San Antonio to explore the Alamo with Jerod and eat dinner on the River Walk. It was fun to see Jerod experience these things for the first time and then we ended the day with a carriage ride through Downtown San Antonio.

The next day it was time to play hard at schlitterbahn and that is exactly what we all did. Preston and I played in the kiddie area for a good long while, rode the alligator in the lazy river and rode a few tube rides with everyone. That evening we all ate at a really good burger place that Bub remembered eating at when we came here as kids.

The second day at Schlitterbahn was just as good as the first day. This time me, Brent, Preston, Dad, Bub and Jerod headed straight for the old park to ride as many tub rides as we could before the lines got too long. We pretty much rode everything at the old park before heading back to refuel!

But the highlight of the second day would have to be when me, Jerod and Brent rode the "Sky Coaster"!! I was soo proud of Jerod for conquering his fear of the ride and pulling the cord too. He loved it afterwards and we all wanted to go again!

That evening we ate at a pizza place that was awesome! The garlic knots were fantastic and the new york style pizza was a great way to end the day.

We finished the trip by going to Downtown Gruene to stop by the General Store to take our traditional candy cigarette picture of the boys and to grab lunch at the Grismill.
