The time has finally come for Preston to officially start school and begin his first year as a Kindergartener (Aug 2017). I knew this day was coming but man'o'man, it came really fast.
Preston has expressed mixed feelings, on one hand he is excited to start school in a more big boy way but on the other hand, he mentioned he doesn't want to go because he isn't good at drawing, that he scribbles and doesn't color within he lines.
Meet the teacher night went so well. They had snow cones for everyone and all the staff was just so friendly and welcoming. We met his teacher, Ms. Boyd and by the end of the evening, Brent and I felt great about our decision to start Preston here and Preston expressed he thought his new teacher was nice. His teacher mentioned, the kids would be reading on a second grade level by the end of the year, that was surprising to us and I guess we will wait to see how Preston does.
The best part is how much they incorporate spiritual learning and starting the kids out on the right foot with a loving understanding of the Lord.
Because it was a super special night, we told Preston he could choose were we ate for dinner that night and his eyes lite up! He instantly said "CICI'S!!" So we headed to Cici's!
Here we go Preston, a new chapter is about to begin!!
