August 16, 2017 is here and Preston is ready to start his first day of Kindergarten! We all woke up at 6:15am to make sure we had enough time for breakfast, getting ready and at school in plenty of time. Waking up early every single day for the next 18 years is going to be hard for momma, lol!
Preston started his morning eating pancakes and bacon and even shared some with Parker Bear! He was in really good spirits and was ready for the big day. We got ready and took a few pictures to capture the big and special moment!
When we arrived at HCA, Preston saw all the parking spot art work and really liked the big eye-ball so we took a few pictures with that which was fun! Then we headed inside and found his class area in the gym and waited for Ms. Boyd to come get the kids to take them to her room.
While we waited, Preston kept Parker happy and smiling by playing with him and making funny faces. The principle came up on stage, welcomed everyone and opened the year in prayer. It was really awesome watching Preston realize that all the people pray to Jesus just like he does at night!
After the prayer, Ms. Boyd led us to her classroom and had a coloring sheet for the kids to color. Preston got worried because he didn't want to be embarrassed about how he colors but he grabbed a crayon and starting coloring anyway.
It came time for the parents to leave, so we gave him some words of encouragement and a kiss and hug goodbye. He was sad to see us go but he stayed brave and didn't cry or cling on to me. Me on the other hand, I held it together until the moment I stepped out of his room and then I lost it, crying all the way down the hall. Such a big day for all of us but it went great and we are looking forward to this new chapter in our lives!
Brent made it extra special by taking Preston to the Rangers game after school with Uncle B and Grandpa. The boys had a great time and didn't get home until 12:30am! You do know its a school night right...lol!
