Porter House: Jerod's 13th Birthday Party

The universe had finally aligned just right to give Jerod the birthday party he had always dreamed of having and that was a pool party. This year everything came together so perfectly that it almost brought me to tears. First, God blessed us with an amazing home that came with a pool perfectly suited to through a party in. Second, Jerod's actual birthday of May 3rd fell on a Saturday which of course was the perfect day. Third, the weather couldn't have been more perfect....85 degrees, full sun and not a cloud in the sky!! There was plenty of room for all of Jerod's friends and the family to spread out and enjoy themselves and the porte cochere provided the right spot to house all of the food, drinks, extra seating and that much needed shade. Jerod and his friends had a blast playing with all the new pool toys we got to keep them entertained and the adults enjoyed sitting back relaxing to the music over the backyard speakers. Mom worked really hard to ensure Jerod had plenty of water balloons to keep the traditional water balloon fight alive and all her hard worked got rewarded when the adults got first dibs on throwing some of the water balloons at the kids as they lined up in a straight line...execution style. It was pretty funny to see the faces of the kids when we asked them to line up arm to arm because we were simply going to throw water balloons at them and they had to just stand there and take it. All in good fun, thou. Then after we got our dibs, the kids went crazy among themselves and had fun running around throwing water balloons at each other. To end the day, the boys got to enjoy ATV rides in the land behind our house and they had so much fun. Preston even got to ride for the first time with Uncle Bub and he loved it.
