Christmas Day

We celebrated Christmas Day with Vicki and Dave and it was quite convenient because we were already staying there as we continue our search for our new home. Preston had fun playing with this new color-changer cars that morning and Vicki made yet another delicious Christmas Breakfast.
After breakfast we started opening our gifts and I love how we take our time and go slow to enjoy that time as long as we can. Preston got a train set and a new glider bike this year.

Christmas Eve at David & Tina's

I love spending the holidays at David and Tina's because Tina just has a way of making the holiday or occasion so special and this year was no different. She had her house decorated so cute because she was part of the Terrell Christmas Home Tour and her theme was "Joy". We ate our traditional chicken enchiladas and sides and then it was time for the kiddos to open their gifts. Preston got so many fun new toys and it was so cute to watch him be so grateful. He literally got excited about each and every thing and thanked everyone who gave him a gift.
David dressed up as Santa and surprised all the kids and that was so awesome! We all got a turn taking our picture with Santa and I hope that is something Preston never forgets!
We also took this time to announce to the family that we were expecting!! Another great Christmas to add to the books!

Merry Christmas!

We announced to John and Kathy we were expecting after we opened all our gifts and they were so excited. Preston got new Batman boots, play-doh truck set and his first hot wheels track! ICE Gaylord

We took a family trip to see the "ICE" exhibit at the Gaylord with Vicki, Dave, Brad and Jessie to celebrate Vicki and Dave's birthdays. We started off by eating dinner at Cole Vines in Grapevine and then we headed to the Gaylord. Brent and I have done ICE before but the rest of the gang had not so it was fun watching them experience it for the first time. Although, the exhibit was better this time than the time Brent and I went with his old work people. There were surprises around every corner and Preston was in sensory overload. The slide was really fun, just wish we could have slid down it more than 1 time. It was a fun family night and we can't wait till the next event!

This will put you in the Christmas Spirit!!

Miscarriage Scare

The day after our first doctors appointment, we had a very scary experience where we thought I was miscarrying. We were staying with Vicki and Dave at the time and during dinner, I was experiencing some pretty intense cramping pain but I didn't really say anything because I thought I was just having bad hunger pains because I was pretty hungry waiting for dinner. But after dinner, I stood up and had to run to the restroom because I felt something coming out. To my surprise and disbelief I was bleeding.
I instantly called for Brent and started crying because I feared the worse...was I miscarrying? After collecting myself a little we called my doctor and told him what was happening. He said there wasn't much he could do that night but to call first thing in the morning to come in for a sonogram.
I was a complete wreck the entire night and next morning. I just had a bad feeling something wasn't right. We prayed a lot that night and put it all in Gods hands and asked him to watch over the baby and to comfort us that what ever was happening that it was his will.
The next morning, we made it to my doctors office and they got us in right away. All I wanted to hear was the heartbeat and to see our little baby on the TV screen and my wish came true!! Dr. Grisham said the heartbeat was strong and we could see our second little one on the TV with the little flutter heartbeat going!! It was the sweetest sight and I was so relieved all appeared ok. Dr. Grisham said I had some blood that was expelling out but the baby was completely fine.
We thanked the Lord for protecting our little one and I took it easy for the next few days.

First Doctor Appointment for Baby #2 & Telling Our Family & Friends

We had our first doctors appointment on December 8, 2015 with Dr. Grisham and found out that I was 6 weeks along and due on July 29, 2016. I was hoping for a summer baby and I was excited that the baby would be coming in July! Dr. Grisham didn't do much at the appointment, just routine check-up and that was it.

Prior to, during an antique shopping trip with my mom on November 28, 2015, I surprised her with the good news. She was shocked that it happened so quickly but was so excited for us. That shopping trip changed quickly as we started to look for cute antique baby toys!! We told my Dad later that evening.

I shared the good news with all my girl friends on December 4, 2015 during our Ugly Christmas Sweater Supper Club Christmas party and the girls were so excited for me but that also meant no party drinking for me :(

Then at Christmas with John and Kathy, we shared with them the exciting news on December 12, 2015 by nonchalantly stating that it was going to be quite different next Christmas with 3 kiddos running around. It took John and Kathy a minute to realize what I was saying but when it sank it, we are shared in hugs, big smiles and excitement!!

We surprised my family with the good news on Christmas Eve December 24, 2015 and it made Christmas even that much sweeter!

Grapevine Christmas Parade

Brent and I took Preston to Grapevine's Christmas Parade in Downtown Grapevine and it wasn't all it was cracked up to be. I was expecting lots of lights, sounds and a really big show but instead it was a bunch of cars going 2 miles per hour down the rode barely decorated and a sea of people blocking each others view. It was pretty boring and we ended up leaving about 15 minutes into it. I was pretty disappointed but it was still fun to get out of the house and spend time with each other!

A few pics before the parade starts
