All aboard!! Sara, Mindi and I celebrated our 30th Birthday’s by going on a girls cruise to the Bahamas. Originally we were suppose to go on the Carnival Triumph but after that vessel went kaput, we had to quickly change our plans and rebook everything. Thankfully Mindi was able to find us a cheaper cruise out of Miami and off to the Bahamas we went.
We flew to Miami early Thursday morning on February 21 and didn’t waste any time getting to our hotel at the Wyndham (luckily we made it with the crazy cab driver we had) so we could unpack and get to the beach. Our hotel was very “Miami” filled with bright colors and art deco design. We were starving so we decided to grab lunch at the Newsstand Café before spending the rest of the day laying out on South Beach.
HEY, wake up old lady
Welcome to Miami!!!

The crowd on South Beach is a little different than here at home. We found several men in speedos, girls laying out topless and sexy couples making out all day long. We got a lot of great pictures and the weather couldn’t have been more perfect. After spending about 5 hours on the beach, it started to get a little chili so we headed back to the hotel to get ready to hit the town.

We're sexy and we know it
First up for the night was stopping by the Dash store. I was soo excited to visit the store and of course secretly hoping to see one of the Kardashian girls there. No such luck on meeting Kim, Kourtney or Klohe but it was neat seeing their store and buying a $4 pencil just so I could say I bought something from there. The store was a little smaller than I thought it would be and not as upscale but I’m glad we stopped by.

We then walked about 10 street blocks to shop and have dinner on the famous Lincoln Street. After walking back and forth deciding on which restaurant to eat at, we finally decided on an Italian Restaurant that was really good but also very expensive. My pizza along was $20. After dinner, we did a little shopping and then went to the best Ice Cream Shop EVER…Kilwin’s. I got the Salted Caramel Chocolate and Two Berry Pie ice cream. Mindi got the homemade waffle cone with Miami Mud ice cream and Sara got 2 kinds of Chocolate fudge for all of us to munch on.

On the way back from the hotel, we caught the city bus back to the hotel but not to fail, we were able to see a man’s penis before the night was over. It never fails when I am with Mindi and Sara. Somehow a man’s penis always seems to present itself.
Can't beat public transportation
The next morning, we were ever so nicely awakened by a screaming 2 year old at 8am but that’s ok because it got us up and going. We first stopped for coffee and pastries at Starbucks before heading back to the beach for a few more hours of sun time. The time struck 11:30am and it was time to head back to the hotel to grab our bags and make our way to the Port of Miami. But before we could head that way, we made a few stops at the liquor store to grab wine, the surf shop so Sara could buy a hat, a few clothing stores that we wanted to go into and a very quick run to TJMaxx so Mindi could see if she could find the exact sunglasses that she had lost the day before. We made it to the Port of Miami just in time and we boarded the Imagination.

See you later Miami
Our first night on the ship, we ate a quick lunch, did our Munster call and then went back to our cabin to unpack and get ready for dinner. Dinner was yummy and Mindi and Sara bravely tired the Snail appetizer so they could say they “Did it”. After dinner, we familiarized ourselves with the ship, took a few cheesy photos and watched a comedy show.

The next day, we ported in Nassau Bahamas and made our way through town to find the #10 bus. We finally found it and headed straight to the Sandals “Slippers” Resort. We grabbed our beach chairs and before I knew it, Sara was returning to our spot on the beach with 3 Bahama Momma drinks. That was the beginning of the end. After 3 shots and 4-5 drinks later, we were taking pictures of ourselves like we were models, doing jumps in the air, taking pictures of other people “trying” to jump in the air, flip flops, herkys and probably annoying all the couples who were there for a romantic get-away. According to one lady, I believe her exact words were, “those girls are sh*ted faced”! Mindi and I ended up passing out on our beach chairs and even getting hit with a football didn’t wake my butt up. I somehow managed to get sand all over me while snuggling up with my beach towel as if it was a blankee. After a good 2 hour nap and plenty of sun bathing later, we made our way up to our room to get ready for dinner.
HAPPY 30th BIRTHDAY MINDI!!!

We had dinner at the Sandals Resort at the Hibachi Grill and it was pretty good. We met some lively people and got to share Mindi’s delicious dessert of cheesecake and chocolate covered strawberries. After dinner we roamed the property, had a drink at the bar and then headed back to the ship. Our cab ride back to the ship was hilarious because our cab driver was a hoot. He made jokes the entire time and poked fun at us every time we asked a question.

Bye bye Bahamas. It was fun
The next day was an “At Sea” day and all that was on our agenda was to be lazy and enjoy laying out all by the pool. About mid-day, while we were minding our own business a man sparked a conversation with me and Mindi and we learned that he was a comedian on the boat and a massage therapist on the side. Had we been aware of what was about to happen, we never would have started the conversation with this man because 5 minutes into our conversation he ended up scooting me pretty much off my chair so he could sit next to Mindi and rub her feet. After getting his lotion out to give Mindi an even better massage, he shared with us his life story, how much of it was true…who knows, and then proceeded to kiss Mindi’s feet and then put one of her toes in his mouth. At that point, Mindi had had enough and we basically said thanks and good-bye. It was the strangest thing and then we learned later from Sara that while we were asleep, a man came by and took a picture of mine and Mindi’s backside. Man, the people on this boat were a little strange…geez.
Day at sea
What tha...???
The sun started to go down, so we gathered up our things and headed back to our room to getting ready for dinner. We stuffed ourselves full of food and tried getting our groove thing on at the night club but that totally was not our scene. So we made our way to the boat photos and found all of our silly photos we had taken and even sparked up a conversation with a few gay guys from New York. We then watched Sara double her money at the Black Jack table and then ended our day at the Piano Bar and got some good insight of boat life from the pianist.
I loved going on an all-girls trip to celebrate our memorable 30th Birthdays. I hope in 30 years from now we will be taking another cruise and have as much as we did this time around!!
Birthday bow
So cheesy but love it
This is what they call Chili's To Go
