Easter 2010

So, I'm a little behind (ok a lot behind) on my postings from last month but better late than never. For Easter my mom cooked a healthy version of her famous and oh so good homemade chili. She made it with ground turkey instead of ground beef and it was still just as good. So good, that I ended up having 2 and a half bowls of it...I couldn't resist. After dinner, Michelle, Jerod and I colored and fully decorated Easter eggs with all the crafty materials Michelle found. My favorite was the colored beads that you glue on...so cute. Jerod enjoyed using the glitter glue and dying sticks. Michelle's eggs came out as cute as ever as always, she's so creative!! That Sunday, we attended the early service at church and then did an Easter egg hunt for Jerod at mom and dad's house. We finished the holiday at Kris and Larry's for a bar-b-que fest. He slowed cooked all the meat, had huge baked potatoes, I made the deviled eggs and grandma made her yummy pecan pie. I ended up falling asleep on the couch for 2 hours and missed Jerod and Brent playing all day in the backyard. I heard they had fun. Another great Easter!!

Let the decorating begin!!

I don't think Jerod likes the vinegar smell too much

Let's get started

Rangers Opening Day 2010

Brent and I got to enjoy one of my work perks last Monday at Opening Day. My work encourages us to go to opening day...can you believe it!! But actually, I did entertain a few of my retailers that were able to go. We had a Coors Light tailgate party right outside the stadium and got free beer and free hooters wings!! I did go off my diet while I was there cause I got a hot dog, peanuts and cheese nachos but I went right home and worked out. It was a good day!!

Aren't you glad to be here rather than at work?!?!?!

Brent didn't even know he went into the girls restroom...he had one way too many beers

MillerCoors Convention-Vegas

A few weeks ago I went to Vegas for our MillerCoors Convention and got to stay at the Mandalay Bay Resort. Surprisingly, we had a lot of extra free time while we were there so Ashley, Drew and I made our way to In and Out Burger for lunch...yum yum. Brent was very jealous and with good reason. The weather was great and they fed us very well. I love going to these things because the desserts are always so good and so fancy looking. I wish Brent could have met me out there and we have a weekend get-a-way but maybe next time!!

Happy Birthday To Me!!

I can't believe I am 27 years old. As my dear grandmother pointed out to me, I am only 13 years away from 40...crazy! Oh well, I had a GREAT birthday anyway!! My sweet husband surprised me with not only very thoughtful and fabulously decorated gifts but a surprise dinner at the very yummy Kobe Steaks with his Mom, Dave, Bradley, my Mom and my Grandmother. My Dad wasn't feeling good that night, so he didn't get to make it. Kobe Steaks is Brent and mine's special place and I absolutely love it every time we go. I'm so glad my mom and grandmother got to go because they have never been there before. After dinner we went back to our place and I opened all my gifts. You know your getting old when you get excited about getting a sewing machine, cricket and new running shoes for your birthday. I can't believe I got all this good stuff, now I just need to figure out how to use the sewing machine and cricket. The surprises didn't stop there. Brent and my mom ordered a birthday cake from Delicious Cakes and it was so delicious..haha. My mom found a singing birthday candle which was soo cute. Thanks again everyone for making my birthday so special!!

On my actual birthday day, I got to spend time with Mindi and Sara at House of Blues for lunch. It was so good seeing them during the week and catching up on our gossip. They also surprised me with a very thoughtful gift...a pampered chef clay baking sheet. I saw Sara make the best cookies in the world on this thing and I just had to have one. Thank you girls so much!! I can't wait to make some yummy sugar free cookies!! : )

Lastly, I was suppose to have lunch with my brother, Michelle and little nephew Jerod on Sunday but yet another snow storm in Dallas didn't let that happen. We'll have to reschedule when I get back in town next week.

Thanks again everyone for making my 27th birthday so special!!!!

Brent surprised me with gifts before we went to dinner. I was so impressed by how cute he wrapped them!!

SURPRISE!!

Mindi turned 27 in February and Levi did a great job of throwing her a surprise birthday party at Terry and Lauren's house. She knew Levi was up to something but couldn't quite put her finger on it. He told her that they were going to have dinner at Terry and Lauren's then go out afterwards. I think Mindi thought we would all surprise her after dinner at some bar but boy was she wrong. We all huddled up in the living room and when she came through we all yelled "SURPRISE"!! She looked a little confused at first but was pleasantly happy that all her friends came out to celebrate her birthday. The boys cooked some yummy hamburgers and spicy hot dogs and I have to say the cake was awesome ; )

Happy Birthday Mindi, love ya!!

Shhhh...here she comes

Mavs vs Lakers

Brent and I got to go to the Mavs vs Lakers game last week courtesy of MillerCoors. I didn't realize how big of a deal this game was until we got downtown and the area was packed to the hill. I have never been to a game where I had to sit is so much traffic just to get into the parking garage. It was all worth it when Brent pointed out to me that JZ and Beyonce where sitting court side on the floor. Once I spotted them I of course couldn't take my eyes off of them. I know, I know I'm obsessed but I can't help it. There were rumors that the Kardashian's where there watching Lamar but I never ended up finding them. Brent wouldn't let me scour all the suites in hopes of finding them, thanks a lot B-rent. Anyway, it was a fun night, glad I went!!

The Mavs kicked the Lakers butts

I know its hard to see, but that's JZ & Beyonce sitting in the middle of the picture, JZ has sunglasses on
