Jerod's 10th Birthday Party @ Shenanigans Bowling

I can't believe my little nephew is 10 years old. How fast time flys by. The past few years we have had Jerod's birthday parties at Mols house in the backyard and this year he wanted to do something a little bit different. We came up with the idea of going to Shenanigans in Rockwall and he loved that idea. The kids bowled, ate pizza, cake and ice cream, did laser tag and ended the day winning lots of tickets playing the arcade games!! Jerod invited boys from his baseball team, a few kids from school and Gracie and Cutter. He had a blast and I think he will remember this one for a long time to come. Brent and I even got in on the action by playing laser tag. I didn't really know what I was doing but guess who ended up winning, Brent of course. He didn't even give the kids a chance!! Happy Birthday Jerod!!!

Mavs Round 1 Game 1 Playoff Game

Little did I know when I went to the Mavs Game 1 of Round 1 Playoff game that they would go all the way to become NBA Champions!! I'm sorry to say that I didn't believe it but man did they prove me wrong. It was a fun night as we got to invite Davey and Mika to come with us. They have never been to a Mavs game before so it was so exciting to watch them have soo much fun!! The Mavs did win that night, so it was a sweet ending!!

Charity Gala for Type 1 Diabetes

Brent's mom, Vicki invited me to go with her to a charity gala supporting Type 1 Diabetes. This was dear to my heart as my little nephew's best friend who is just 10 years old has Type 1 Diabetes. He has to live his life so differently than all the other little kids and he does it with a smile on his face. He is the sweetest little boy and he never complains about getting pricked several times a day. I'm glad that I was able to be apart of something so great and the charity ended up raising over a million dollars that night. They had several guest celebrities that included Bret Michael's and a performance by Julianne Hough, she is absolutely beautiful. Thanks Vicki for a wonderful evening!!

Spring Carnival

Last Friday night after dinner at Flying Fish we all headed over to the carnival in the parking lot of Firewheel. I've always said those things are so dangerous but it was a nice evening and I couldn't resist Jerod wanting to go. Him and I rode several rides together and had a blast. I haven't done anything like this with him before and I loved every minute of it. There was one ride he was a little too scared to ride so he dared Brent and I to ride it. Never backing down from a dare we did it and was soo happy when we got out of the cage alive. Such a fun evening with the fam!!

What up yo

Such a cute little family

Oh man, maybe we shouldn't ride this...

We're doing it anyway

Oh thank goodness we survived

Swing bata bata swing

My little nephew is officially a little baseball player. Jerod went to one of Caden's baseball practices a few weeks ago to just watch but the team ended up being a few players short so they asked Jerod if he wanted to practice with them. He accepted the offer and had a great time. When he got home he told his momma and daddy that he really wanted to play baseball. Luckily the season hadn't started yet so Bub and Michelle got him all signed up and took him shopping for all his gear. He was soo excited and couldn't wait to get started. It was absolutely adorable when Jerod tired on his "cup" for the very first time. He was pulling on it and tugging on it but eventually he got used to it. Soooo cute. Below are pics from his very first game, he was a little nervous but did a great job.
He did have one little miss up...he was playing center out field and at this age not too many balls come his way. He ended up getting a little bored standing out there with no action so he started to not pay attention to the game. He was swinging his arms and looking up into the sky when the batter hit the ball and it was coming straight for Jerod. Jerod wasn't aware of this and the ball went right pass him. We were all screaming and hollering for him to get the ball but he didn't know what was going on. He eventually saw the right out fielder running towards him when he realized there was a ball right beside him. The right out fielder ended up getting the ball and returning it and lets just say Jerod learned his lesson that go around. From there on out, he was focused.
