Christmas Day 2013

This year Christmas was a little different as we didn't have Grams with us anymore but we continued with our normal traditions and had a wonderful Christmas with Brent's side of the family. Brent, Preston and I got to Vicki and Dave's house around 11pm and to our surprise Preston didn't fall asleep on the drive over. He played the iPad the entire 1 hour drive. Everyone was happy to see Preston awake when we arrived so they could play with him for a little while. Vicki had gotten Dave a karaoke machine for his birthday and she suggested we turn it on and sing a few Christmas songs. I of course loved the idea and was surprised by how in-to-it both Brent and Brad got. Vicki pulled out a few instruments for all of us to play and we had a fun time singing along with the karaoke machine. I even sang a few songs. We sang until about 12:30am and again we were so surprised that Preston had not fallen asleep yet, he was having a blast listening to everyone sing and ringing his jingle bells and banging on Vicki's pots and pans with the drum sticks.

We all got into bed about 1am and this year Vicki let everyone sleep in until about 10am. She prepared a delicious Christmas breakfast with homemade cinnamon rolls, bird's nest hash browns & eggs and stuffed raspberry cinnamon muffins along with milk and orange juice. After breakfast we started opening gifts and Preston got a lot of new and fun things to play with. His favorite was his "hug-me" Elmo he got from Vicki and Dave. But the best part of the day was hearing Preston says "Peeps" to Peeps. Peeps loved that Preston knew his nickname and was calling to him. It warmed all of our hearts.

After gifts we got ready and enjoyed a Christmas dinner at Shelia and Steve's. When we got home that evening, my parents were at our house and Preston got to open his stocking and open a few more gifts from Mal and PawPaw. It was a wonderful Christmas!!
