Christmas Day

This year marked a shift in tradition as Brent's Mom, Dave, Peeps, Brad and Jessie gathered at our house late Christmas Eve night to sleep over and celebrate Christmas morning at our house. We have always spent the night at Vicki and Dave's but now that Preston is older, we wanted him to experience Christmas morning at home. It all worked out perfectly because as my family was leaving our house after celebrating Christmas Eve, Vicki, Dave and Peeps pulled up and it was time for party #2. Brad and Jessie came shortly after and after visiting for a little while, we all hit the hay.
I woke up pretty early to get breakfast up and running so that it would be ready by the time everyone woke up and luckily all the food came out wonderful. We had cheese and spinach quiche, homemade sticky buns, skillet potatoes, sausage balls, cranberry bread and Grams' elephant ears. We stuffed our belly's full to say the least.
After breakfast we gathered in the living room to begin our Christmas. It was nice to go at a slower pace compared to Christmas Eve with my family but with only 1 kid, its a little easier to go slower. We took our time opening gifts and savored every special moment watching Preston experience Christmas morning.
Preston got more trucks which he loved them all, the go-fish game, play gun and we saved his BIG gift for last...his new big boy hot wheels. Brent has been waiting for weeks to give Preston his new hot wheels and I was excited for him that the special time had finally arrived.
Preston's eyes lit up when he saw his new ride and after a few quick instructions, Preston was off and driving. I could tell by the look on his face that he felt like a big boy and drove his new truck so proudly.
It was a magical experience this year and I am already looking forward to next year!!

The best part though had to be the priceless moment when Preston sat on his whoopee cushion that he got from Santa in his stocking. He had no idea was it was when he opened it and why we were asking him to sit on it but after he sat on it his facial expression was priceless to say the least. We all busted out laughing and then he started to laugh. It was so funny and then he wanted to do it again and again. We all got a chance to sit on it until it finally gave out after Peeps had his chance.

Merry Christmas!!

 His BIG surprise
Getting a few quick instructions from Daddy
 And he's off
 Oh man, first wreck already
Now he's getting the hang of it
 2 ol' wise men
 Oh wait, maybe not
 Running over Mommy's foot
 Stocking gifts from Santa
 Whoopee Cushion fun
His first and second ride side by side
