Well, I managed to get ready in time and me, Brent, Brad, John and Kathy all headed to the wedding. The ceremony was very traditional and beautiful but the reception was amazing. We headed back to downtown Oklahoma City after the ceremony and got to party in the Petroleum Club on the 34th Floor of the Chase Bank building in the heart of downtown. Tables of food awaited the guest and the wedding party didn't waste anytime getting their party started. The wedding party did a short fashion show entrance, did the traditional dances then went ahead and cut the cake. The cake was awesome, red velvet..yum yum. Something must have been in the air cause after they cut the cake, everyone got out on the dance floor and danced for the next 3 hours, myself and Brent included. Brent had about 8 Corona's so that's why he was so willing to dance it up. We had a lot of fun and we are all going back in a couple of weeks for his other cousin's wedding. Looking forward to it!! : )
Sunday morning, we all woke up and had breakfast with Brent's Dad side of the family. They are all so nice. Then the 5 of us took a short tour of the Oklahoma City bombing memorial site. I didn't realize how big of an impact that event had on the people of OK and our country for that matter. The memorial site was very peaceful and well thought out. We luckily got to hear the memorial tour guide speak about all the ends and outs of how they created the memorial site and why they did what they did. 168 people lost their lives that day at 9:02am and if you get a chance to visit Oklahoma City sometime, please stop by there and check it out. You won't be disappointed.
We departed OK and quickly headed back home Sunday afternoon to ensure we made it back in time to celebrate Grams' 85ht Birthday at Brent's Aunt Sheila's house. We had a cookout, had cake of course, saw baby Zoe and watched Grams open her birthday gifts. It was very nice to spend a little time with Brent's Mom side of the family too.
Man, after the party Brent and I were completely exhausted to say the least. I hit the hay at 9:30pm and got a good nights rest. Now, I'm looking forward to next weekend to spend time with my family and friends for Memorial Weekend!!!

These chairs represent each person that died in the bombing. If you notice, some chairs are smaller than others representing the children that died that day
This tree was only a few yards away and survived the bombing, its now known as the Survivor Tree
A note from one of the rescue workers
Children from around the world wanted to help in the rescue efforts, so they left hand prints and chalk notes to all the rescue workers letting them know they are thinking of them
They encourage you to feel the water and place your hand on the memorial walls
