Preston celebrated his very first Christmas on Sunday, December 16, 2012. We had to push our traditional Christmas Eve celebration with my family up a little because Bub, Michelle and Jerod were going to be in Alabama over Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Luckily everyone was available on the 16th so we all got together and celebrated. We served our traditional chicken enchiladas along with chips and hot sauce from El Phoenix, taco salad and mexican rice. Kaci, Makinzi and Jerod were on pins and needles to open their presents so as soon as we finished dinner everyone headed to the living room to get the present opening started. I couldn't believe I was about to experience Christmas with my son for the very first time. I had to play Santa so mom held Preston until it was time for Preston to open a gift, then I sat with him and helped him open all his goodies. Preston's first gift was from Grandma who gave him and Caroline a rocking horse tree ornament marked with the date of 2012. I absolutely loved it and will treasure it forever. Preston's second present and all-time favorite one was from Mal and Paw Paw and it was a musical set with drums, tambourine, symbols and 2 shakers. He loved banging on the drum. Preston showed everyone how he was officially standing on his own and walking a few fast and furious steps. I had a feeling he would be walking by Christmas and by all means he was!! It was the best present he could have ever given me. We spent the rest of the night opening gifts and going back for seconds on the dinner food and desserts.
It was a magical night and I was looking forward to experiencing this night over and over again as we were still to celebrate Christmas with John, Kathy, Vicki, Dave, Brad and Jessie!!
