Christmas Eve at our House

Brent and I hosted Christmas Eve at our house again this year and everyone chipped in as always to make our traditional Mexican style meal. Me, Tina and Grandma made our own versions of chicken enchiladas, Mom made her taco salad, Mika made some really good spicy cream-cheese tacos, Michelle made yummy brownies and punch and Christina brought her famous 3 layer dessert. We definitely were not hurting for food. After dinner the kiddos were on pins and needles to open presents. So after making them wait just a little while longer, we all piled into our family room for presents. I played Santa this year and I have to say, I did a fantastic job of keeping the gift opening calm, cool and collected. Last year, it was over in a about 5 seconds and was total chaos but this year with momma Holly on duty, presents were distributed in an orderly fashion and it took a little longer to get through all the presents. Not to brag or anything...hahaha!!

After the kids got done with their gifts, the adults played a few games and won a few prizes. With budgets tight this year, we decided not to do a gift exchange and opted for a fun evening of games. We started out with ring toss and I have to say, this game always ends up being so much fun. It came down to my dad verses Brent as they were the only ones to get a ringer out of 3 tries. My dad went first and got another ringer, then it was Brent's turn. To all of our amazement, he got 2 ringers. We all couldn't believe it, he does have a talent for the ring toss game.

After ring toss, we all tried to answer the Christmas trivia questions my mom found as well as a few tongue twisters that everyone got a good laugh at. In the end, Tina, Michelle, Grandma and Christina got the most answers correct and won some yummy boxes of chocolates. After the games, we all sat around and talked the rest of the evening!!
